ERITREANS IN THE DIASPORA DEMAND THE US AND THE UN

TO ANNUL AND REPEAL UN SANCTION AGAINST ERITREA

On the occasion of the one year anniversary of the UN Security Council’s adoption of the illegal, unfair and unjust Resolution 1907 (2009) of 23 December 2009 which imposed sanctions against Eritrea, Eritrean communities in the Diaspora and friends of Eritrea sent over 180,000 emails and faxes, as well as placed phone calls to President Barack Obama and Secretary General Ban-Ki moon. Under this concerted worldwide Action Month organized from November 20 to December 20, 2010, they called upon the US Administration and the UN to:-

· repeal UNSC resolution 1907 (2009) that imposed unjust and illegal sanctions against Eritrea and its people;

· urge Ethiopia to end the illegal occupation of sovereign Eritrean territories;

· work for a viable and comprehensive peace in the Horn of Africa;

Reflection E-Smart Action Day Phone Conversations with UNSG and White House Office

Many Eriteans around the globe should be fully aware of the ‘World-Wide Esmart Action Month’ that is currently taking place (November 20th - December 20th).  This month was designed in order for Eritreans, in a variety of Western communities, to get together in an organised fashion with the primary aim to unconditionally lift the unjust sanctions placed upon our peaceful country of Eritrea. As expected, our tight community guaranteed that each individual that could help the cause would do so in an exceptional manner.

The year that Glorified the National capacity of the Nation As people begin to take their seats in the eventful hall, they got their greetings out of the way so it wouldn’t disturb them once the seminar commenced. Amongst the talking you can hear, conversations about weather, family wellbeing but within a few minutes the conversations try sour. Anger and frustration fill the atmosphere as many are horrified with the UN’s decision not to remove the sanctions off Eritrea.

Magnificent Action Day in London UK>

Action Month, which is running between 20th November to 20th December is the battle Eritrean’s are having to fight in order to have their international rights restored back for Eritrea and it’s people. 15th December is being considered as the main day for the demonstration to happen. London had been split into four regions of North, South, East and West. Within South London the location is Laryn’s Cafe, with Eritrean flags draped outside it is not hard to mistake where the proud Eritreans are working hard to vocally be heard.
