Festival Eritrea UK 2011 Concludes in a Successful Manner

Festival Eritrea 2011 in the UK once again continued with a whole host of activities for kids and adults planned throughout the day. The family atmosphere was witnessed as participants of the festival came flocking early with the beautiful sun shining on them.

Greeting the participants with smiles all-round was the job of every Eritrean on the spot, nonetheless there were well organised programs for the kids which made their day unforgettable. The Eritrean Professional Network Engineering & Science sector group took the initiative in preparing science quizzes as well as various types of scientific experiments that was entertaining yet at the same time inspiring them. The youth (YPFDJ) also played a major role in the overall process of making the festival as lively as possible, in a more specific manner the youth also took the task of keeping the kids busy with activities that range from karaoke, to face painting, coloring, and also hosting the famous Teckle Clown which also entertained the adults.

Much of the eagerly anticipated program was the public seminar by Mr Zemhret Yohanes Head of Research & Documentation at the PFDJ (Peoples Front for Democracy & Justice). Mr Zemhret gave an extensive insight about Eritrea and the state of mind that has been developed there by also updating participants about current state of affairs, as well as development campaigns. An opportunity was also given for comments and questions to the participants where adequate answers were given. Much appreciation from the audience was a testament to the great display of patriotism that the Eritrean people just like the past they are working side by side with their government. The seminar was broadcasted live via social networking sites, and Paltalk where it attracted wider audience from different geographical locations.

Festival Eritrea UK 2011 saw participants from all age groups, that have travelled from various parts of the UK including as far as Scotland. The exhibition also remained opened adding magnificent collection of arts that were brought by artist Amaniel Zerezghi from Scotland.

The Ambassador of the State of Eritrea to the United Kingdom & Ireland H.E. Tesfamichael Gerahtu thanked all organizing committees as well as participants that came from far and close to make the festival lively. He also commended efforts of families in promoting the transfer of culture.

The night continued on with various entertainments programs lined out, taking centre stage was Eritrea’s patriotic songs that sent the crowd to cloud nine, adorned with flags waving all round.
