Saru Celebrations in London"SARU 2010"

Celebrated in London UK in a Colorful Manner.

On Saturday 18th September "Saru Event 2010" was hosted by the Embassy of Eritrea in London, on the occasion of Eid Al Fetir & Kudus Yohannes celebrations, which religious leaders heads of PFDJ-UK Branchs, Representative of Zobatat,  NUEW, EYAUK, YPFDJ as well as invited guests took part.

Dr. Tewolde W.Kidan, Chairman of the EPCC opened the Saru Event by one minute silence of remembering the Eritrean Martyrs.

Speaking at the celebrations, H.E. Tesfamicael Gerahtu, Eritrean Ambassador to UK & Ireland, expressed good will that the Eritrean people strive to develop the nation through keeping intact their respective faiths and unity.  The Ambassador pointed out that the Eritrean people have been living in harmony and coexistence for centuries, and expressed conviction that they would reinforce the nation-building endeavors through preserving such sacred and noble values.

Followers of the Christian and Islamic faiths said that the holding of religious holidays constitutes are cornerstone for our co-existence and harmony, as well as reinforcing national unity. They explained that the prevailing peace and security in Eritrea is the outcome of long-standing coexistence and mutual respect which was reinforced through paying heavy joint sacrifices.

Followers of the Christian and Islamic faiths said that the holding of religious holidays constitutes are cornerstone for our co-existence and harmony, as well as reinforcing national unity. They explained that the prevailing peace and security in the country is the outcome of the long-standing coexistence and mutual respect which was further reinforced through paying heavy joint sacrifices. They underscored that such noble values lie behind the success of the impressive development achievements.

Aba Kidane Lebassi, said that unity and mutual respect is the unique characteristic feature of the Eritrean people which continues to be bequeathed from generation to generation. The holding of the two religious holidays at the same time further added color to such a reality.

Mr. Mohammed Bilal, indicated on his part that both national and religious holidays in Eritrea play paramount role in reinforcing nationalism and unity.

In this regard, he highlighted the need for parents and all institutions to exert still more endeavor so as to properly bequeath such a value to future generations.

Likewise, Aboy Suleman Ibrahim Abdella, pointed out that religion in Eritrea remained to be the foundation for strong unity, and not a cause for division.

Another faithful, Keshi Yohannes Sebhatu, stated that enemy acts of hostility and conspiracy to undermine such a noble values would continue to be rebuffed through the Eritrean people’s strong unity.

Eritrean artists from London, Kahsay Berhe, Oqbai Mesfun, Yohannes Solomon, Meakelle O.Micheal, and Berhane Semere staged musical performance that gave added color to the Saru Event.
